Dictionary of Taiwan Hakka

The vocabulary, based on some written literature and spoken Hakka, amounts to 15, 000 entries in total, with some supplementary 7,000 entries. The dictionary is unique in the attention to keep some vocabulary reflecting Hakka cultures, some of which are taboos, and some euphemism. However, all of the entries are well-defined such that both traditional and novel words are collected. New coinages refer to new ideas, concepts, and inventions.
Six varieties of Hakka, namely Sixian, Hailu, Dapu, Jaoping, Zhaoan, and Southern Sixian are included. All the entries come up with definition, synonym, and/or antonym, together with exemplified sentences. For the referential purpose of language learning, certain words are illustrated with pictures. Supplementary documents are also provided.
